Men's Bible Study
Please contact the church for more information.
Our ministry is to support and encourage the women of our church, and to further support women's needs in the community. We do this by offering several different opportunities. These opportunities include:
- Bible Study sessions, usually consisting of 6-10 weeks. Spring studies begin first week of April and Fall studies begin the first week of September.
- Prayer shawl Ministry provided handmade shawls to those who are hospitalized or otherwise in need of encouragement and prayer.
- Ladies Night Out is our monthly gathering just to share and eat together on the first Thursday each month.
- Sister Circle is our monthly book club that meets on the fourth Monday each month and discusses the Sister Circle books.
The purpose of our men’s ministry is to promote and encourage friendship and camaraderie among the men of the church. We seek to accomplish this purpose in two ways.
First, in our Saturday Morning Men’s Bible study which meets every Saturday morning at Small Town Pizza in Trafalgar, Indiana which is located next to the Indian Creek Elementary School. This is a community Bible study where we gather with men from other area churches. We start serving coffee at 7 am in a time of fun and fellowship and our study of the Bible begins at 7: 30 am and ends promptly at 8:30 am. Currently we are studying through the book of Ephesians.
Second, the men of the church also assist our deacons in their service ministry when it comes to participating in work days here on the church grounds. Work days around the church, in the community and at Camp Allendale.
Connection Classes (Sunday School)
We offer at least two different adult Connection Classes on Sunday' @ 10:30 a.m.
The Willing Workers’ class, meeting in the classroom just off the narthex upstairs, is studying the the Old Testament for Summer with emphasis on the Law, History, Chronicles and Prophets. This class is taught by Marty Loop.
Another class is offered each week in the conference room (downstairs). This class rotates teachers, topics and teaching styles. Check out the Sunday Bulletin or call the church office to find out what classes we are offering currently and what classes are coming.
The purpose of the Small Groups Ministry is to help members of the congregation get more intimately connected with each other. The importance of family to family connection has been stressed as far back as the early church. Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” Depending on the facilitator of each small group, these various groups may meet as often as weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, to fellowship and study God’s word. Gatherings are held at the church as well as members homes throughout Johnson, Morgan, and Brown counties (again – depending on the facilitator). The Small Group Ministry allows families to better understand God’s word without the congestion and intimidation sometimes associated with larger Bible study groups.
